Schon vor langer Zeit, absolut nichts ahnend davon, dass ich mir eine Hündin kaufe, habe ich mich in das Foto einer Hündin verliebt. Ihr Name: Asca „Blackthorn Ascella“. Ich fand den Gesichtsausdruck von Asca auf dem Bild einfach klasse. Sie ist ein Hund mit einem Charakterkopf, einer ganz speziellen, auch witzigen Ausstrahlung die man nicht oft sieht. Wie mir Rita berichtete, ist Asca wie sie aussieht, sie ist witzig und sorgt immer dafür, dass es etwas zum Lachen gibt. Für mich ist ein Hund mehr als das Ergebnis aus Gesundheits- und Arbeitsergebnissen, mich spricht auch sehr der Gesichtsausdruck, die Mimik, das Gesamtpaket an.

Ganz nebenbei ist Asca bis zum heutigen Tage auch der einzige Englische FTCH, der nicht aus England, aus Europa stammt. Asca ist die Schwester von Adu, Beesleys Tante.

Asca is now my favourite dog in my kennel - she is an excellent worker on every kind of gundog tests and trials, moreover she has a very funny, easy-going character, she is the clown of the family. She is very-very clever so it was just an easy-ride to train her. She is a very trustful dog, like her mother was in her time, I can be sure that the dummy or the bird will always be in, no matter how hard the situation is. She never lets out an eye-wipe situation on any Field Trial...
Like her mother, she is among the top dogs both in Workingtests and Field Trials. She inherited all the natural bird finding abilities and the excellent nose. She was 2nd best dog on the Game Fair in England in 2009. In the past season she won 3 Open Field Trials on the Continent and a Novice in England. In November, 2009. she won two Open Field Trials in England within 1 week so she became British Field Trial Champion, for the moment the first and only from the Continent!
The second open was a 2-day stake so she was qualified and ran on the IGL Retriever Championship in Blanklay.
